About Me
I’m Mary Doellman, DO, an ENT (ear, nose and throat) and allergy physician with Phelps Health. I joined Phelps Health in August 2019 and am board-certified in otolaryngology (ENT). My collaborating provider is nurse practitioner Brittany Waterworth. I previously served as the chief of otolaryngology/head and neck surgery at General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. I commonly see patients for hearing loss, snoring, nasal problems, allergies, neck masses and difficulty breastfeeding. I care for patients of all ages and especially enjoy helping children.
I have always enjoyed fixing things, working with my hands and being busy. I am naturally drawn to challenges and science, and I love helping people. As an ENT physician, I love the personality of the field, the pediatric patient base and the opportunity to form more in-depth patient relationships.
My background as a former ENT military surgeon, as well as a military spouse, makes me keenly aware of the special needs of those serving in active duty and their dependents. I also empathize with what my patients are going through. As a child, I suffered from pediatric sleep apnea and recurrent ear infections, and experienced ENT surgery firsthand.
Outside of work, I enjoy gardening and keeping honeybees and chickens. Cooking, eating, traveling to foreign countries and seeing musicals at The Fabulous Fox are additional hobbies of mine. I am in the process of learning the Portuguese language and aspire to learn more languages.
I was born in Germany, as my dad was stationed in the army there, but grew up near Savannah, Georgia. St. James is now home to my family, which includes my husband and two sons.
I choose to practice at Phelps Health because I enjoy the area and the philosophy of the organization, and am blessed with an amazing ENT/allergy support staff. Medicine is a team sport. I will offer you my expert medical opinion, but in the end, you are the boss. I will help you make the best decision, while making sure you and your family understand all available options.
