Traffic/parking changes October 6-December 5, 2025 for Emergency Department construction

Construction of the new Phelps Health Emergency Department will begin in October 2025, bringing several significant traffic and parking changes to the health system’s main campus. These changes are necessary to ensure the safety of patients, visitors, staff and construction crews as the project moves forward.

Road Closures and Lane Reductions

  • 10th and 11th Streets (near the East Entrance parking lot) will be reduced to one lane from October 6 to December 5, 2025. The public is encouraged to avoid using 10th Street as a through street during this time.
  • Asher Street (between 10th and 11th Streets) will be closed from October 6 to December 5, 2025.

Entrance Changes

  • Beginning October 13, 2025, patients and visitors who usually use the East Entrance—including those visiting Surgery, the Wound Ostomy Center, the Sleep Center and other nearby areas—must enter through the Main Entrance. Assistance will be available at the Main Entrance for those who need wheelchairs or require directions.
  • The East Entrance staff entrance will remain open for employees.

Parking Updates

  • The handicapped parking lot near the East Entrance (facing 10th Street) will be closed from October 13, 2025, through January 9, 2026.

Phelps Health appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during this project. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time visiting the campus, follow posted signs and use alternate routes if possible.
