Phelps Health is working with GRACE (Greater Rolla Area Charitable Enterprise) this fall to provide holiday meals to families in need.

Phelps Health employees and volunteers were encouraged to donate nonperishable food items and/or donate money to purchase turkeys during the 11th annual “Basket of Thanksgiving” food drive held from October 4 through November 5, 2021.

A total of 135 baskets of food were filled, with one basket feeding a family of four. Additionally, 488 other food items and $1,280 was raised for the purchase of turkeys for each basket, so area families had all of the items needed to make a holiday meal.

The donated food and money were given to GRACE, which will distribute the collected food items to local families in need for Thanksgiving.

The Phelps Health Mission Possible group sponsors this annual food drive.

“On behalf of Mission Possible, we’d like to thank everyone who contributed food and monetary donations to this food drive,” said Crystal Lorah, interim director of the Phelps Health Auxiliary and Volunteer Services.
