Jonathan Pulsipher, DO

I’m Jonathan Pulsipher, DO, a general surgeon who joined Phelps Health in September 2026. I provide surgical care for adults across a wide variety of needs. In addition to the more common conditions such a gallbladder disease and hernias, I have special interests in minimally invasive surgery, anti-reflux surgery, colon and rectal disease, thyroid disease, skin cancer, and breast cancer.

I believe good surgical care should be founded on up-to-date research. I strive to stay well informed on new medical data and surgical techniques. Therefore, I use both advanced robotic and traditional surgery to treat patients. I enjoy getting to know my patients, providing straightforward explanations, and helping them feel confident and ready for surgery.

My interest in medicine started with my love of sports and outdoor activities. As a child and young adult, I became interested in how the body works, including anatomy and physiology. I earned a degree in exercise science and then decided to apply this knowledge as a physician. 

I chose general surgery because I enjoy the hands-on nature of the specialty. I like that surgery uses precise techniques and instruments to treat a problem, with patients often seeing results right away.

I’m impressed by Phelps Health’s commitment to its physicians and providers, ensuring they are well-supported and empowered to personalize their practices. Providers are treated well and are set up to provide quality care to their patients.

I was born in Fort Collins, Colorado, and have also lived in California, Utah and Arizona. I now live in Rolla with my wife, our two children and our two dogs. We have extended family in the area and have spent many summers here visiting family and enjoying the farm and family store.

Outside of work, I enjoy exercise, weightlifting, sports, motorsports, biking, hiking and exploring. I’m also a big NFL and fantasy football fan. 

I also offer telehealth visits, which allow patients to visit with me remotely using a smartphone, tablet or computer with an internet connection and audio-video capabilities. I’m fluent in English and Spanish.
