Kelsey Knobbe, MD

I’m Kelsey Knobbe, MD, and I joined Phelps Health in September 2025 as an obstetrician and gynecologist (OB/GYN). I see adolescent and adult patients for a variety of women’s health concerns, including pregnancy, contraception counseling, abnormal pap smears, abnormal bleeding and well-woman exams.

My interest in medicine began when I was a child. I was often sick and spent time in many different hospitals, where I saw both the good and the bad. The people who made the biggest difference were the ones who firmly advocated for me. Their example inspired me to become a physician and champion the care of my own patients.

I chose a career in obstetrics and gynecology because I am passionate about supporting women’s health at every stage of life. It’s rewarding to care for women and encourage them to prioritize their own health, even while caring for their families. 

I believe it’s important for patients to be fully informed when making decisions about their care. I make sure my patients understand what’s going on with their bodies and what is considered normal. I explain when to seek help and what options are available should a problem arise.

After visiting Phelps Health in 2023, I knew I wanted to work here. Everyone was warm, inviting and kind, and I felt a genuine sense of community. I could tell the people I met were passionate about their work, which is important to me.

I’m originally from St. Louis, but currently live in Rolla with my husband and our three dogs. This area offers many opportunities for outdoor recreation, and I unwind by hiking, biking, running and kayaking. I also enjoy working out, trying new restaurants, traveling and taking walks with my dogs.
