About Me
I’m Sasan Moshirzadeh, MD, and I joined Phelps Health as a neurologist in April 2024. I see adult patients (ages 18 and up) at the Phelps Health Medical Office Building. Since 2007, I have been practicing neurology, the study and treatment of nervous system disorders.
I use electromyography (EMG) to diagnose injuries and conditions that affect the muscles and the nerves that control them, such as carpal tunnel syndrome and radicular pain (in the neck, back or hand, caused by a pinched nerve in the spine). I can give nerve blocks for headaches and steroid injections for carpal tunnel syndrome. For muscle spasms and headaches, I also administer Botox injections. I work with multiple sclerosis (MS) patients to help improve their quality of life. Additionally, I treat patients with neck and back pain, hand tremors and facial twitching.
I grew up in Tehran, Iran (the capital city), and am a first-generation physician. I’ve always wanted to help others, and medicine gives me the opportunity to do so. My background in mathematics drew me to neurology, a field that relies on tests, measurements and numbers.
I believe in personalized care, tailoring treatment to each patient's unique needs. My goal is to empower patients, through education, to make informed decisions.
In my free time, I hit the trails to explore this beautiful area by hiking and walking. The strong sense of teamwork at Phelps Health drew me to this organization, and the friendly staff solidified my decision.

I had a difficult time understanding what Dr. Sasan was telling me and I am not sure he remembered me from previous visits. The last time I saw him, he did some tests on my legs, but I was never told what the results of the tests were.
The wait between vitals and doctor was a little long, but once he got in there he was so nice and made sure I was okay at every point in the test.

Staff & Doctor well organized. Procedure was explained in detail. No waiting, was in & out in a timely manner.

Dr Sasan explained things meaning my symptoms in a way that was new & very helpful & helped explain things I hadn't understood before. Answers that were reassuring & made a great deal of sense. After the appt. when I had the chance to think things over later on, I knew there were still a few questions I hadn't thought in time to ask him although the answers may have been of a more technical nature I realize, making them potentially less helpful. I find him to be a serious yet very pleasant person, someone whose professional judgment I have confidence in.

Dr Sasan and his staff were wonderful. Very friendly and accommodating. Explained things in a simple manner, able to get in for further testing quickly. Will recommend to others needing neurology.

Well, I really don't understand why there was an appointment made at your, at this doctor, and then when I got there, they didn't do the test that they originally said they were going to do. I didn't really understand that. But other than that, I guess everything was fine. Thank you. Bye.

I waited over an hour and never saw the doctor. I drive over an hr there and then an hr back. I had another appointment that I could not miss at 345, so I had to leave. If they knew they were that behind they should have told me before I checked in. I did reschedule. Everyone was nice and pleasant. Everything was clean.
Dr. Moshirzadeh and the medical staff in the neurology office went above and beyond when I established care. They were incredibly accommodating of a migraine I was experiencing and reduced the lighting in the office. They listened to all of my concerns during my intake. They had read my chart prior to my appointment. They're not only treating my current condition, but exploring other potential conditions that may have been missed. This appointment and this team gave me hope.
Excellent visit , concerns addressed , referral for physical therapy and a recommendation for consultation with rheumatologist . Reception staff , Montserrat and Dr. Sasan were very attentive and supportive .
I had an EMG done. I had one in the past and it hurt really bad. I went to my appointment this time had it done and it didn't hurt wasn't traumatic to anything. Dr was great!!!! I would recommend anyone that need a procedure to go to him. Wow fantastic
Dr. Is soft spoken, and frequently talked to me while typing on the computer instead of facing me. It was difficult to understand him

I've already responded to this. I'm having to go out of my way and out of pocket for someone to put me in a car to see if I can navigate the signals and pedals and I don't know what else.Like I'm an invalid.
Notify patients of significant delays
The entire staff at Neurology are absolutely WONDERFUL! It's clear they like working together, and that they adore the doctor. For that matter, so do we! Wonderful human being and a great sense of humor! We'll be back! :D
Dr. Sasan was exceptional!
Doctor was very nice and caring. He was performing a somewhat painful EMG and he kept checking to make sure I was ok and comfortable. I like him.
Reception was very helpful. They were very courteous, respectful. The nurse was extremely courteous and respectful and very explanatory. And the estimation from the practitioner of the procedure was done very well.

My wife had an appointment and happened to mention that I had an appointment at a later date. The doctor squeezed me in so as to save a later trip since we were there already. That was much appreciated. Thank you. My only complaint and it has nothing to do with this doctor is it takes so very long to get appointments. My wife has some issues that need attention but appointments are sometimes 8 or 10 weeks out. This is pretty much across the Phelps system.
All the staff (front desk, nurse, and doctor) was very nice to me. I felt well informed and taken care of from start to finish of this visit. Please pass on to all three that this was a great experience with obvious professionals at all levels. Thanks.

Everything was done well and I was treated well
First, they got me an appointment faster than expected. The staff was nice to talk to. The Doctor and assistant was easy to talk to and listen well. All went well.
I have told my provider to send others to different neurologists and this Dr spent more time sanitizing his hands than he did in my visit with me. I now have a referral to see a different provider as I got nothing from this visit and waited 6+ months for it.
I was having a test so the provider didn't really need input.
I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment and was unable to see my provider until 1 hour later. Transportation was being provided for me by the veteran from the VA clinic in Waynesville and they had to wait an extra amount of more time for me to complete this appointment..
I was especially pleased with the nurses on staff who listened very carefully to everything I said and gave me feedback on what I said. That was a very good thing. The doctor did a good job, but I don't know anything about his profession, so it's hard to judge until I've had him a while. This was the first time. The negative thing is it seems like every time I go to a doctor, there's another medication and another doctor. While this doctor didn't send me to another doctor, it just seems like generally talking about Phelps health, it seems like every time you go to a doctor that doesn't complete your problem, it just recommends another doctor who sends you to another doctor.

Professionalism treated me with individual care ty
The doctor ran some nerve test on my lower legs. He did not explain the test or what the test is suppose to reveal. I do have a future appointment where Dr. Sasan will go over this test and some previous tests with me.

Staff was attentive but seemed to rush through the process. I did not feel as if anything was wrong necessarily, just rushed is all.

Everyone was very friendly and very helpful. I have never had a doctor ask if I had been diagnosed with a disease. Yet I have so much wrong with me and have had several surgeries and I do not feel like I am old enough to have so many issues medically/physically. I was told if I can get a referral to be seen by him by my primary care doctor, he would be willing to try to help me.
From check-in to the end of my test, everyone was very, very gracious, very accommodating, and did everything they possibly could to make me comfortable. An excellent professional courtesy.

Dr Sasan was very kind, thoughtful, listened closely to my health concerns, proactive to get me answers and to treat the problem. The nurses were friendly, kind and always had a smile.
No mater what provider I see at Phelps health they are always understanding and caring so is their support staff.
I was informed at my appt, that was only for making sure I was ready for my procedure the next week, that prior approval was already granted for my next appointment procedure and that the dr. still hadn't looked over my MRI results from an appointment he made 4months prior. Then I was called the day before my procedure and told prior authorization was in fact NOT approved and they had only told me that because they had a verbal confirmation from their department, not my insurance or primary care department.
They come as a package deal. They are the perfect gift. It is a seamless experience. Everyone works together and are knowledgeable as well as happy. I adore the doctor.
