Jason Shenefield, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Phelps Health, was selected to serve on the Missouri Hospital Association (MHA) Board of Trustees. His 1-year term began January 1, 2025.

MHA’s Board provides governance for the association and assists in policy development on behalf of the state’s 137 member hospitals. MHA represents every acute care hospital in the state, as well as most of the federal and state hospitals and rehabilitation and psychiatric care facilities.

“We are pleased to have Jason join the MHA board,” said Jon D. Doolittle, MHA president and CEO. “His proven leadership and deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in healthcare will strengthen the board’s ability to address critical issues facing hospitals and health systems today.”

Shenefield joined Phelps Health in 2016 as chief operating officer (COO) and was selected to serve as president and CEO in 2021. Prior to joining Phelps Health, Shenefield served in leadership roles at healthcare organizations in Illinois and Wyoming. He is also board certified as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

“I look forward to representing Phelps Health and our region as part of this prestigious group,” said Shenefield. "State hospital associations like MHA play a vital role in supporting healthcare and strengthening communities, and I’m proud to support their mission."
