Phelps Health has released its 2024 annual impact report to the community, which showcases results and successes from across the health system.
The report covers new services and accolades, including the Forbes “best-in-state employers” designation. It also highlights clinical achievements throughout the year for the home health, emergency and radiology areas, as well as a prestigious quality recognition.
“In recent years, we have continued to increase the level of care we provide, and it is reflected in these achievements,” said Jason Shenefield, president and CEO. “Additionally, we are proud to highlight our Health Quality Innovators Gold Award, which demonstrates our dedication to advancing quality care for our community.”
The annual report features a snapshot of patient care and financial data, including the health system’s economic impact, which totaled more than $225 million, including salaries and wages, employee benefits and capital investments.
“The provider side of the healthcare industry has been under tremendous financial pressure in recent years,” said Shenefield. “Though rural hospitals face tougher challenges than large health systems, our focus on financial management has helped strengthen our organization for the future.”
The results of the hospital’s patient experience surveys also demonstrate the high level of quality and care provided by its patient care teams. Of special note are the patient satisfaction increases as indicated by the willingness to recommend Phelps Health.
