Phelps Health has once again been recognized as among the top hospitals and health systems in the nation in select clinical areas.
Phelps Health received the 2022 quality award rankings from CareChex® Awards, an information service of Quantros, Inc.
“We are pleased to be recognized for our care. These awards are a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment of our employees,” said Phelps Health President and CEO Jason Shenefield.
These rankings list Phelps Health as among the top 10% of hospitals and health systems in medical excellence and patient safety.
Phelps Health received the following 2022 Medical Excellence Awards:
- Top 10% in the Nation, in the Region and in Missouri for Joint Replacement
- Top 10% in the Nation, in the Region and in Missouri for Major Orthopedic Surgery
Phelps Health also received the following 2022 Patient Safety Awards:
- Top 10% in the Nation and in the Region for Cardiac Care

The 2022 quality awards from CareChex® are based on its comprehensive quality scoring system that compares inpatient quality performance across general, acute and non-federal U.S. hospitals.
