"I believe residency training can transform both physicians and rural communities."

About Me

I was born and raised in Salem, Missouri, a rural community just 30 minutes south of Rolla. My background in education has shaped my passion for supporting others as they learn and grow. After 7 years as a high school English teacher, I transitioned into healthcare education, where I coordinated scheduling and didactic experiences for third- and fourth-year medical students completing clinical rotations at Phelps Health.

Working with medical students allowed me to draw from my experience as an educator while supporting future physicians during an important stage of their training. That experience, along with my passion for rural communities, inspired me to be part of the Phelps Health Family Medicine Residency Program and support the next generation of doctors.

I live on my family’s farm in Salem with my husband, foster daughter and beloved pets. After returning to the area, we built our home and are excited to continue being part of this community.

Why Phelps Health?

I believe residency training can transform both physicians and rural communities. After attending a conference focused on rural health, I saw how impactful a residency program can be for a community. I’m excited to support the growth of this program in our region and work with new physicians as they begin their careers.
