Speech-in-Noise (SIN) Testing

Speech-in-noise (SIN) testing assesses your ability to understand speech in background noise. You’ll listen to a recording of a person speaking a sentence while background voices get louder with each new sentence. Your task is to repeat the words you hear. This test helps the audiologist evaluate how well you can hear and understand speech in noisy environments, which can be challenging for those with high-frequency hearing loss. SIN testing can also predict your ability to hear in background noise with or without hearing aids.
