About Me
I’m Andrea Phinney, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Phelps Health. I joined Phelps Health in August 2024 and focus on foot and ankle orthopedics. My most commonly performed surgeries are total ankle and knee replacement procedures.
My father, also an orthopedic surgeon, greatly influenced me from a young age. In school, I loved science and biology. Medicine offers a perfect blend of intellectual curiosity and human connection. Orthopedics specifically appealed to me because of its hands-on approach and direct patient impact.
My goals in caring for my patients are to develop a trusting relationship and provide the best care possible. I will validate and support them in their personal journey, whether through conservative care or surgery. Each patient is unique and should be evaluated as an individual. Above all, I respect my patients’ right to make their own decisions.
I was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Illinois and Missouri. My husband, who grew up in Washington, Missouri, and I were looking for a rural setting to raise a family. Not only did Phelps Health check this box, but it also has an excellent reputation.
My husband and I are very outdoorsy. We enjoy camping, backpacking, hiking, fishing and kayaking. I’m an avid fiction reader and also like to garden, bake and cook. I love spicy foods and trying different ethnic recipes. One dog and cat complete our family.

Excellent
Put on Telephone to make an appointment the person who took my call listen to me describe my situation then said that she would try to work me in as soon as possible due to my injury. She called back within a half an hour with an appointment for the same day. The office staff was very efficient with their paperwork. I received an x-ray within the next 15 minutes and saw the doctor within the next half hour. Everyone I interacted with was very efficient, knowledgeable and professional. I was very satisfied with my outcome and the services that I received. I would definitely recommend the Ortho Clinic to others

The dr, was concerned she listened to me and was very grateful in the way she explained what she was going to do. The nurse was very sweet.
They listen to what I have to say about what was going on with my knee and they gave the me information what she recommend to try to help with the pain in the knee and she told me what I have in the knee
Very well, and took great care
the provider was kind and understanding until I told her I could drive a long ways to have surgery. She my mom is older than you and is about to drive across country. I really didn't like her saying that to me
Dr Phinney is fantastic, kind and knowledgeable.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
Dr. Phinney explained the xrays taken of my knee and gave me options of how we could set up a care plan. I am very happy that I selected her as my Orthopedic Provider.
It was a good experience overall. The only blip was that I didn't see the provider for almost an hour after my appointment scheduled time. The nurse did apologize for the wait. I would recommend the staff & provider.
The provider actually listened to my concerns and was extremely knowledgeable. I felt comfortable that the provider knew what I needed and informed me of information I was never told by my previous provider. I have referred my husband to this provider.
Everything was wonderful.
Office was on time for my appointment. Tech listened & took notes. Doctors was wonderful!!! Very caring, explained what was going on with me, explained how she was going to treat me & gave me an estimate of how long of a process this would be. The Nurse was very professional. She explained what she was going to do to treat me & then while treating me, explained what she was doing every step of the way. The doctor also stopped back in to check on everything & make sure once again, if I had any questions. Superb work on every front!

Yes, everybody treated me like, wow, I was a family member. They were great, they were nice, made me feel so relaxed. When I got there, I was a bundle of nerves and they made me feel so comfortable within the first 10 minutes. They were great and professional, very professional.

wonderful doctor , nurses and staff . All of PHelps Health doctors and nurses and staff are great.
Arrived 10 minutes before 3 o'clock appointment at 3:30 still was sitting in waiting room went to desk to see if the Doctor was behind they didn't realize that I hadn't been called back so I sat down and still waited another 15 minutes before I was called back with my daughter to a room to see a Doctor.
