About Me
I’m Brittany Schroeder, FNP-C, and I joined Phelps Health as a certified family nurse practitioner in July 2025. I care for adolescent and adult patients, addressing a variety of gynecological and women’s health concerns. My collaborating physician is Nathan Ratchford, MD, FACOG.
Growing up, I was very active and had several injuries which sparked my interest in medicine. I chose to focus on gynecology because I’m passionate about women’s health and advocacy. I want to help women understand their bodies so they can make informed decisions and take control of their own health.
I believe that patients are the experts on their own lives and bodies. I offer collaborative care to help patients make health decisions that fit their personal goals.
Having grown up in St. James, Phelps Health was a natural choice. After earning my degree, I knew I wanted to return home and put down roots. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and child. We have two dogs and two cats who are also part of the family. In my free time, I enjoy backpacking, hiking, reading and working out.
My goal is for every patient to feel comfortable and confident in their care, know they’ve been heard, and have control over the decisions that affect their health.

The nurse that brought me out of the waiting room was not friendly at all. She never smiled. She walked way ahead of me to the room to where I couldn't even find where she went. And then while I was in the room, she was not friendly at all. She asked the simple questions she needed to ask and walked out of the room.
I felt very comfortable
While Dr. Schroeder listened and explained everything clearly, I walked away not feeling like what I was saying was really took into consideration. I feel like we tried a band aide approach. After speaking with friends and family, it was questioned why bloodwork wasn't considered and a pill was just given. While I hope these things fix my issue, I also feel like more care could have been given.
I felt very comfortable in the clinic and just want to say how much I appreciate how everyone treated me. They were professional and communicated very well.
My visit to this location was my 1st! Staff was all professional.

Everything was awesome
I am in a wheelchair, and as you can guess, I don't enjoy going to the doctor. It can be difficult and awkward. However I was treated exceptionally well and not as a burden. Great job!!!

I had been to three other doctors for this procedure with no success. And this doctor was successful!
Brittany Schroeder was able to get me in right away. She had plenty of flexible appointments ready at good times, including late in the afternoon, to help with my work schedule. They saw me right on time. They were fast and efficient. They did exactly what I needed them to do, and she prescribed me exactly what I needed her to prescribe me, and was good with sending prescriptions promptly and helping me to know what follow-ups I needed.
Everyone was very kind and understanding. I felt comfortable asking questions which enabled me to make some decisions about my health.

Staff wasn't that friendly. Very short sentences, acted as if they had other things to be doing. When I left the room after my appointment ended, I said bye to the staff while walking by and no one said anything...

I didn't feel heard and still have no resolution. My communication with the assistant was unprofessional and almost rude. I would not recommend this office or provider to anyone. I dont feel like the provider is knowledgeable or willing to work through my issues as a team.

My clinic notes included answers to questions I was not asked, and I don't feel like I was able to openly discuss my overall health or concerns. I was asked a handful of questions about protection and birth control but overall this felt like a very impersonal appointment.
Brittany was awesome. She actually listened to me and responded to my concerns. I appreciated her taking time with me and not rushing through my appointment. She is a definite asset to your office

From the start with the aide taking vitals I felt very comfortable. Womens wellness checks are never enjoyable but I felt very respected and safe. The NP Brittany made sure to make sure all my questions were answered and she listened and didn't make me feel rushed.

Hello, I would like to leave a feedback about my scheduling appointment. I had a scheduled appointment a year ago with one provider and the provider left, but I was notified. I only found out when I found, when I came to the visit, and I found out that I don't have a scheduled appointment. The doctor left. So I'm really disappointed if this is the second time what happens to me in this facility that people in the office do not notify the patients of changes in the office. So I hope this will be improved. Thank you.
I'm new in town and having had some issues with the previous medical personnel. So far I'm very pleased with Phelps
She was really great. She listened to my concerns.
This is the first time that I used Ms. Schroeder. Her nurses weee not the friendliest and did not seem to care to be there. Me. Schroeder and I had an entire conversation about not getting a pap this year but the next. The original nurse would not come back in the room and the second handed her the stuff to do a pap and she did one. Even though we had just had an entire conversation about it. This is the first concern that I have ever had with the office, and I have been coming there for years.

The whole thing felt very rushed. I was not told what tests were being ran - I had to remind the care provider to provide a breast exam as part of a well Womens visit. My entire visit took 20 minutes & 7 of that was sitting in the reception area.
Provider was new and seemed uncomfortable or unsure at times. Most of my Pap smears have involved a lot of bedside manner and small talk to help ease my comfort and I would imagine this is for most people.
