About Me
I'm Fawad Virk, MD, FACC, and I joined Phelps Health as a cardiologist and an interventional cardiologist in 2021. I see patients 18 years or older.
When caring for my patients, I take a holistic approach. I look beyond the disease and see my patient as a whole.
I developed an interest in medicine because I enjoyed studying biology and how the human body works. I chose to specialize in cardiology because in many cases, I can make a difference in a patient’s quality of life rather quickly. I consider myself approachable and use the best possible, evidence-based care with my patients.
At the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, I was honored to be named the Best Cardiology Fellow. I am married with one son. In my free time, I enjoy food and outdoor activities. I am fluent in several languages, including English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.
I also offer telehealth visits, which allow patients to visit with me remotely using a smartphone, tablet or computer with an internet connection and audio-video capabilities.

The doctor and nurse were terrific. The checkout person acted like it was an imposition to make me a 6 mo follow up appointment. He was carrying on a personal conversation with his co worker during the time I was waiting for the appointment information.
Filthy place. Needs cleaning and repair . I can't feel that it is a place I feel comfortable for that reason

I have no idea what could have been improved. It was an excellent appointment from the moment I walked in the door of the hospital. The volunteer at the front door helping me find the direction I was going and the receptionist in the doctors office was fabulous. The nurse was fabulous and I really like Dr. Virk

I had a good experience and I always appreciate when my appointment is on time.
I was treated with respect. I had to go to the bathroom but I was the next person up so I told the nurse and she showed me where it was and let me go before I was weighed. The doctor remember my daughter came with me last time and wrote what he and his Co worker talked about doing so I could give the info to my daughter. I think everyone went above and beyond for me. Thanks to all that day for making it a good day.

Everyone was nice and friendly except the girl at the check in. She ignored me till I seen a nurse come out for a patient so I asked if she could help me. I guess the nurse told the girl because she helped me immediately after that. To begin with trying to get an appointment was hopeless until my daughter in law finally got hold of her friend. I called and called, left messages but no one returned my call. Dr. Virk's nurse was very efficient and and Dr Virk was extremely nice, professional and helpful. I'm glad he's my doctor and I would definitely recommend him.

My cardiologist had left the practice and due to a clerical error, I was not called about my cancelled appointment. But they were all very helpful and got me in with a different cardiologist after a very short wait. I was very happy with them.
