About Me

I’m Katie Allen, FNP-C, and I work as a certified family nurse practitioner at the Phelps Health Waynesville Medical Plaza. My collaborating physician is Phelps Health Chief Medical Officer and Family Medicine Physician Darren George, DO. I joined Phelps Health in 2024 because I love their commitment to serving the community.

I see patients of all ages for a variety of conditions, including high blood pressure, thyroid disorders, anxiety, depression, diabetes, obesity and headaches. I also provide general health and wellness checkups.

I grew up in the Cajun country of Louisiana before moving to the St. Robert, Missouri, area, where I provided 12 years of civil service at Fort Leonard Wood. I truly felt honored to serve those who served me. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy traveling, fishing, going to the river, tackling DIY projects and supporting my husband and children in their various hobbies.

I want to make the world a better place, one patient at a time, by helping to improve their quality of life. I enjoy seeing positive results and progress for the entire family. Life is hard enough without healthcare adding to the burden. To lessen this burden, I offer my patients and their caregivers the convenience of family appointments.

As a provider, I strive to build caring relationships with my patients through active listening, ensuring they leave each visit feeling seen and heard. I believe that every patient for whom I can make life a little better, in turn, makes me a better provider.

I also offer telehealth visits, which allow patients to visit with me remotely using a smartphone, tablet or computer with an internet connection and audio-video capabilities.

Katie Allen seeing both me and the wife, she is exceptional in everything, very caring, very thoughtful, thinking about everything about our needs and such. We are very, very pleased with her and do not plan to change to another doctor, period.

I shown up a day early. The front desk staff was so nice about it. On my actual appointment day, my nurse was very sweet and efficient. My provider was very attentive. She explained everything well and gave positive feedback on changes I had made. It was nice to be supported.

The nurse who took my vitals was very sweet. She was able to relate with me on a personal level and it made me feel very comfortable. The provider was also nice as well. She took time to research some stuff for me as well as listen. Not to mention she was able to get me an appointment the same day.

I was very impressed with the care I got from the moment we walked into the door. The front desk staff was so nice, so helpful. Everybody really made me feel like they cared about me as a person and the provider made me care or made me feel like she cared about all of my concerns. I have literally never experienced this good of care in any healthcare setting in my life. I am just blown away and I'm just so grateful and so happy. Thank you.

I'm treated with respect, treated like a real human being instead of a second class citizen. I'm being treated better than my previous line of treatment in the military. I guess I got a new doctor and I'm happy with it. I plan on staying there as long as she'll have me. So I guess that's about it.

The provider that I saw was very attentive to my medical history, specifically my anemia, and very thorough in making sure that I didn't want further testing and instructed me about yearly testing and that's recommended even though I declined. I feel like she did her job in letting me know what the recommendation is and, you know, if any signs and symptoms appeared, you know, to be seen immediately. And she listened to me. She was very considerate, thoughtful, kind, and I felt comfortable with her.

The doctors are very knowledgeable and friendly. The one recommendation I have is that, you guys need to work on your turn over rate. It gets old waiting to be seen and or having to switch drs. As of now I will continue to use you guys but if I have to wait over 30 days for my kids to be seen I will end up switching.
