Lacey Stockton, NP-C

I’m Lacey Stockton, NP-C, and I joined Phelps Health as a certified nurse practitioner in October 2023. I see adult patients (ages 18 and up), and my collaborating physician is Phelps Health Internal Medicine Physician Chadwell Vail, DO, FACOI.

I offer wellness visits and can help patients with chronic diseases, high blood pressure and cholesterol, mental health and more.

I entered the medical world somewhat unexpectedly. In high school, my father was diagnosed with kidney cancer and needed dialysis. He was not feeling well enough to complete dialysis in a center, so my older sister (and fellow nurse practitioner) and I learned how to help him at home. He appreciated this comfort, and it was fulfilling to take an active role in his healthcare.

As a college freshman, I worked as a CNA (certified nursing assistant) and went on to gain experience in long-term, progressive, emergency and vein care. In 2016, I began my nursing career, working in a medical/surgical department, and most recently, in public health. In search of a new challenge and the ability to have a larger impact on my patients, I decided to obtain my Master of Science in Nursing degree, to become a nurse practitioner.

As a student, the majority of my clinical rotations were at Phelps Health, and the healthcare organization was incredibly supportive during my training. I’m familiar with and look forward to continuing to serve the Rolla community, having previously worked for the local health department.

I believe in creating a healthcare environment that supports strong provider-patient relationships. The best relationships should emphasize respect for patients’ beliefs, wishes and freedom of choice.

I’m a Vienna, Missouri, native, but currently live in Belle, Missouri, near our family’s century farm. We have cattle and grow corn, soybeans and winter wheat. Outside of work, I love baking, spending time with my family and on our farm. We are the proud parents of a son and daughter, who keep us busy.
