About Me

I’m Mark Rusten, MD, and I joined Phelps Health as an otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeon) in February 2025. I see both children and adults for ENT and allergy concerns.

I have over 20 years of experience in this specialty, practicing in Kentucky and Cape Girardeau, Missouri, before moving to the area. I see patients for chronic ear and sinus infections. I also treat allergies, ear problems, dizziness, swallowing disorders, reflux disorders, voice disorders, nasal obstructions, and most head and neck cancers.

My grandfather was a dermatologist, and I decided to follow in his footsteps to also pursue medicine. The ENT field allows me to treat all ages medically and surgically.

After a visit with me, I want every patient to feel that I saw and heard them. As a doctor, I strive to provide attention, care and treatment consistent with my patients' healthcare goals.

I chose Phelps Health because it offered a strong opportunity within a stable and reputable health system.

I grew up in Minnesota but now call Missouri home. My wife and I have two sons in college and two Bullmastiffs (Grace and Stanley) at home. In my free time, I enjoy golfing, cooking and photography.
