Sarah Bowe, FNP-C, MSN

I’m Sarah Bowe, FNP-C, MSN, a certified family nurse practitioner with the Senior Care team at Phelps Health. I care for older adults in area nursing homes and work closely with Phelps Health Internal Medicine and Senior Care Physician Bohdan Lebedowicz, MD, CMD.

I’ve been with Phelps Health for several years. Before becoming a family nurse practitioner, I was a Home Health and Hospice nurse and later transitioned to the ambulance crew. I’m excited to begin the next phase of my career here; the compassion and capabilities of this team can’t be beat.

Before joining Phelps Health, I worked in a variety of settings, including emergency departments, intensive care units, long-term care facilities, health departments and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). 

Healthcare has appealed to me since I was a teenager, and I’ve always wanted to make a positive difference in people’s lives. I love having a smile on my face, and I like to make others smile, too. I chose Senior Care because I enjoy the complex needs and challenges of older adults—and they always have amazing stories.

I believe in treating the whole patient by considering their mental, physical, spiritual and emotional needs while also including their families and caregivers when developing a treatment plan. With compassionate care, patient empowerment and effective communication, the best outcomes are possible.

Originally from Flint, Michigan, I currently live in Waynesville with my family and our pets, including twin German shepherds, a cat and a bearded dragon. When I’m not working, I enjoy hiking, boating, bow fishing and spending time outdoors in the beautiful Ozarks.
