About Me

I’m Wes Harden, MD, FACOG, an obstetrician and gynecologist (OB/GYN) who joined Phelps Health in 2018. I also serve as the medical director of the Physician’s Excellence Committee and the division chief of Surgical Care. I commonly see women for pregnancy, contraceptive counseling, abnormal Pap smears and abnormal vaginal bleeding.

As an OB/GYN, I get to provide both hospital and office care combined with surgery. This specialty also allows for long-lasting patient relationships. I also enjoy guiding patients and families through pregnancy.

I am originally from northern Missouri. When I’m not at work, I enjoy traveling, horseback riding and kayaking with my family. Other hobbies include maintaining my farm and occasional snow and water sports.

I don't think you did anything wrong. I like going there. They're always courteous. They're waiting on you hands and feet. And there's no problem there. Dr. Harden is a good doctor. He has good nurses. I love going there. Thank you.

I enjoyed my visit. It was quick and simple. Nothing to improve.

The diagrams in the doctor's office depicting fully naked women were awful. I did not feel comfortable being there with my small son. There were unnecessary and graphic, I wish the hospital was more family oriented.

I always feel like all of my concerns are addressed when I go to the clinic. I could have two, three, four different concerns that I need to address at one visit, and the providers never feel rushed. They take time to discuss each concern with me, and it helps that I don't have to make multiple appointments to get all the answers that I need, that I can find out everything I need to know in that one visit. And it is very much appreciated, especially for someone that works, that has to take off work to meet all of their appointments. Thank you.

Dr Harden and his staff are always the BEST when I see them.

Honestly, I would never choose to see Dr Harden again. I had to see a physician once during my pregnancy and it was pointless. He knew nothing about me prior to the 30 seconds when he reviewed my chart before entering the room and the first thing he says is that I'm gaining too much weight too fast and that's a concern he has. He didn't ask me about how my pregnancy has been going, about my current nutrition or physical activity, or acknowledge that I may be a busy mom of two young kids (who were in the room with me). He then asked about my two previous pregnancies because I delivered 2-3 weeks before my due date. Both babies were a healthy weight. He then implied that the reason they came early and were "bigger" babies was because I gained too much weight during my pregnancies. Again, he knows absolutely nothing about me. Would he be interested to know that my mother who is very slender delivered 5 babies all of which were 2-3 weeks early and 7-8 pounds. So, I just felt like a number to him and not treated like an actual individual.
