On Friday, June 7, the Phelps Health Foundation hosted the 26th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Oak Meadow Country Club in Rolla. Under sunny skies, participants and volunteers joined forces to raise over $120,000 for a new Emergency Medical Services (EMS) base and helipad.

Phelps Health recently broke ground on the EMS project, which will ensure faster response times for emergencies. In 2021 alone, EMS teams responded to over 8,000 calls, a number that continues to grow.

The new base will feature eight ambulance bays, dedicated crew quarters for EMS and air response teams, and expanded operational space. A second helipad will allow crews to safely move aircraft if another helicopter is flying into Phelps Health, saving time when patients need treatment quickly.Four golfers

“We're incredibly grateful for the overwhelming community support at this year’s golf tournament,” said John Money, senior vice president of Human Resources and philanthropy at Phelps Health. “The funds raised will be instrumental in providing our dedicated EMS teams with the space and resources needed to continue delivering exceptional care to our community.”
