“It all began with an annual mammogram. That’s what started this journey. I’m so thankful for the high caliber of care I received. It was amazing and a positive experience. You had a voice in your care. You had someone who was your advocate and held your hand along the way. It’s a beautiful place. It was like having an extended family. If there is a way to make cancer a great experience, the Delbert Day Cancer Institute did it. They are world-class people—every one of them. It’s the best place in the world. We have a powerhouse of talent and care right here in our neighborhood. I can’t say enough good things.”
-Loretta Wallis, DDCI Patient
The Phelps Health Delbert Day Cancer Institute (DDCI) is nationally accredited by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons. Because the DDCI is a Commission on Cancer-accredited cancer center, the DDCI takes a multidisciplinary approach to treating cancer as a complex group of diseases that requires consultation among surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, diagnostic radiologists, pathologists and other cancer specialists. This multidisciplinary partnership results in improved patient care.
The Delbert Day Cancer Institute (DDCI) has been awarded a grant by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) as a member of the National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Program (NCORP).
