About Me
I'm Crystal Fleener, FNP-C, and I joined Phelps Health as a family nurse practitioner in 2008. I see adult patients (ages 18 and up) and work in collaboration with Phelps Health Internal Medicine Physician Pecos Coble, DO.
I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2008 and received my undergraduate degree from Southwest Baptist University-St. John’s College of Nursing in Bolivar, Missouri. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, I worked as a registered nurse (RN) in pediatrics at Phelps Health and in surgical services at Salem Memorial Hospital.
I am from Salem, Missouri, and my husband and I have six children. In my free time, I enjoy camping, fishing, hunting, traveling and shopping.
My philosophy of care is patient-centered. I get to know my patients as a person and not as their disease(s). I want to know about their family and what’s most important to them. I want to always treat my patients as I would want my family to be treated, with love and respect. I find that when we have a good relationship with our patients, we can provide the best care to meet all their needs. All patients deserve to have a provider who listens and cares.
I also offer telehealth visits, which allow patients to visit with me remotely using a smartphone, tablet or computer with an internet connection and audio-video capabilities.

Why do they change the persons that check you in before you see the NP. I think this is important to the clinic.

Crystal Fleener is absolutely wonderful. She listens. She hears you. The 2nd most important thing a provider can do. She treats you as a whole person. Not just a person in there with a singular problem. I highly recommend her.
The appointment went very well, Crystal went through everything with me and recommended a PCV vaccination, which a very nice (and gentle) nurse, whose name I cannot remember, gave to me. I was glad I went in - I feel up-to-date on what needs to be done and why it needs to be done. Thank you!

The provider listened and took time to explain things.
The one thing you need to improve is the lab. I waited almost good 30 minutes just waiting for a blood draw. This isn't the first time I've had to wait but this last time was too long. The doctors office has their act together but the lab needs more help.
Crystal listened to me and helped me navigate my post-visit questions. I really appreciate that.

Crystal was fantastic! She was so thorough and really listened to me. I already recommended her to my mother.
Again- the person placing me in exam room& doing VS did not introduce them self- name badge was turned around, never smiled or did anything to put me at ease or feel like I mattered. I was a task she had to get done and walk out. Period. Crystal Fleener was the exact opposite! She smiled , introduced herself,talked TO me and she gets a 100 for patient interaction, professionalism & humanism.
The people that I deal with are outstanding! I have had more relief from back problems that go back to my time in the Navy. I have been to or in major Naval hospitals and I have better care here...period
I love my provider and all of his staff. I'm always treated with respect. They have very informed information about my case, my medications, and any procedures that I've gone through since the last time I saw them. So, God bless them. I'm glad I have them.
