About Me
I’m Elliotte Bourne, PA-C, and I joined Phelps Health as a board-certified physician assistant in March 2024. I see patients of all ages, and my collaborating physician is Phelps Health Internal Medicine Physician John Armstrong, DO.
Some common conditions I see in the clinic are high blood pressure, diabetes, anxiety, depression and thyroid issues. I also can perform joint injections and minor skin procedures.
In eighth grade, I injured my wrist playing volleyball. I was treated by Phelps Health Orthopedic Physician Assistant Brett Clayton, who recommended occupational therapy. The experience was eye opening, and I found it fascinating to see how therapy greatly improved patients’ lives. Luckily, I continued to play my sport in high school and through college. This experience inspired me to pursue a career in the medical field.
At the end of my freshman year of college at Missouri State University-West Plains, I applied for a job at Phelps Health as a rehabilitation technician in the Acute Rehabilitation Unit and inpatient therapy services. I worked in this position for 5 years while completing my bachelor’s degree. During this time, I further confirmed my passion for medicine and love for being a part of patients’ journeys.
Internal medicine gives me the opportunity to connect more deeply with my patients, which is something that is very important to me. As a provider, my care philosophy is to care for the whole person. Each patient deserves a care plan specifically catered to their unique needs.
My parents relocated to Rolla from Kansas City when I was 6 months old. I have lived here ever since, and I’m excited to give back to my local community. I’m also looking forward to working with my mom, who works at Phelps Health as a clinical dietitian.
Outside of work, I’m a proud cat mom to my two rescues, Leroy and Daisy. I am blessed with a green thumb and love collecting, propagating and caring for rare and unique houseplants in my spare time.

I enjoyed talking to Elliot Bourne because she listened to me, treated me as a person, and we worked together to improve my health. I would recommend her for anybody as a provider, and I will be going back.

Dr Bourne and nurse and desk check-in were all pleasant, professional and very attentive to me. All the medical items I wanted addressed were discussed and follow-up is being taken care of. I wanted a new primary care dr, internal medicine, to get away from Mercy Dr, and even tho Phelps in Rolla has shortage of such Dr available, I took the availability of a PA-C for my care. I would like to see Phelps address that shortage and hire necessary staff of Internal Medicine Drs to replace staff they've lost.
Everything was done quite well, very pleased with PA.

Elliotte Bourne is so nice and she seemed so happy too see me again! I appreciate her so much because I feel like she takes my concerns seriously.
I feel like doctors and staff are always very attentive. They listen. I use multiple providers for me and my children through Phelps Health. Everyone's always so nice. They are very courteous. They listen and always have a smile.

The receptionist at the front when you first walk into the Clinic area for service to be a little bit more prompt in attending everybody was standing around nobody not knowing for sure who was next or where to go next and most of the receptionist had their heads down or looking at a computer and not the patient. But overall, the service was pretty good.

Listened to what I had to say and made decisions on my problems not on preconceived ideas like I've had other doctors do. Everyone was very nice and didn't rush anything. Efficient yet caring. Extra shout out to the girl who drew my labs. Didn't feel a thing. Great experience.

I really liked and appreciated that my health care provider listened to all of my concerns and all of my thoughts about myself and my own health and took every bit of that into consideration and just fully listened to everything I had to say and didn't do the stereotypical interrupting or brushing off anything that you are saying about yourself. I greatly appreciated the referral I was given! Unfortunately what was suggested was something I'd already tried in a way and I had a long list of things I'd tried. But I believe the referral may be the answer needed and I was happy to have that noticed!

I was so impressed just with the ability to get in same day to have my children seen. The office was very clean. The staff was incredibly friendly. Everyone was professional and kind, really well-mannered with the kids. They made sure to listen, to ask us good clarifying questions, and get us the care we needed. We were in and out of there for both the kids within under an hour. It was just top-notch service all around. We will definitely be back and thank you guys for all that you're doing right.
