Helen Litz, FNP-BC

I’m a board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-BC) at Phelps Health and see patients of all ages at the Walk-In Clinic - Rolla. My collaborating physician is Phelps Health Family Medicine Physician Rachelle Gorrell, DO.

I decided to pursue a career in healthcare because I enjoy helping people. I'm a people person and treat my patients like family. One of the things I enjoy most about my job is the variety.

Since 1998, I've been a nurse practitioner and was the first nurse practitioner in the Phelps Health Emergency Department. Previously, I worked in Phelps Health’s Comprehensive Breast Center and Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Before going to nursing school, I also was employed by Phelps Health’s medical laboratory for around 9 years.

Because of my experience in the Emergency Department and other areas of the Hospital, I feel I'm able to relate to my patients. I can quickly identify what’s going on with a patient and recognize more serious concerns that may require immediate care at the Emergency Department. I also can help them get follow-up care, if needed.

In my spare time, I like working outdoors and baking. I’m also a crafter and enjoy scrapbooking and making cards and treat boxes.
