About Me
I'm Jacob Reedy, FNP-C, a certified family nurse practitioner, and I see patients of all ages at the Phelps Health Walk-In Clinics. I work closely with my collaborating physician, Rachelle Gorrell, DO.
I treat patients for a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries, including colds, flu, strep throat, ear infections, minor cuts, urinary tract infections, sprains and mild allergic reactions.
I joined Phelps Health in 2016 as a registered nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED). After becoming a family nurse practitioner, I transferred to the Walk-In Clinics in March 2025.
I chose to join Phelps Health because it’s a staple of the community. I’m originally from Dixon, but spent 23 years in the Air Force. My military career allowed me to travel around the world; during my last deployment I visited 14 countries. I returned to Dixon because my family is here, and I love the sense of community in rural areas.
My interest in medicine began while I was deployed to Iraq. I flew critical care transport planes, taking wounded soldiers to medical facilities in various countries. When I was assigned to assist medics, I became fascinated by their ability to stay focused — even in stressful conditions. After losing both my mother and stepmother to cancer, my interest in medicine evolved into a drive to help people heal and live fuller lives.
Many of the skills I honed in the military — such as quickly assessing patients, making decisions, and thinking creatively with limited resources — match those required in the ED. These skills are equally valuable in the Walk-In Clinics, where every patient presents a fresh challenge.
I strive to serve the community with integrity and compassion, and to empower patients to be key players in their own healthcare decisions. I take extra time to explain conditions thoroughly because informed patients can make better decisions.
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my two kids and being outdoors. I’m a fan of muscle cars and love outdoor cooking. Hunting, fishing, hiking and kayaking keep me active.

Great staff and provider very impressed with kindness and care
Even though I was not a resident, I felt the atmosphere and all around service was "top notch " ....welcoming, clean, and very impressive. ???

The provider made me feel comfortable and cracked jokes with me as he was giving me stitches. Dr. Jacob is a goat.
It was a very good experience all around and the lady at the front desk was able to find my insurance right away as well as share it with me because it is a new insurance to me.

The experience was amazing. They got us in, got us out, real professional, real courtesy, real friendly. I mean, my daughter enjoyed it. She went there because she had her foot cut open of her toes. And I mean, the nurse was great with it. Wait around. We couldn't have had a better experience. I wish more hospitals or doctor's offices were like y'all.
My provider made himself aware of my medical history and the treatment was so effective with almost complete relief within 5-10 minutes. I was able to walk upright and stretch effectively when I came home. I am so grateful for his kindness and professionalism. Thank you for treating my needs appropriately.
Provider was outstanding in putting stitches above my eye. I was unsure if walk in clinic could treat my cut or not. Was pleasantly surprised stitches could be put in as well as x ray taken to see if my nose was broken. Staff was outstanding to me. Will highly recommend to others.
Every staff member excluding the provider was helpful and listened to all of my concerns. Jacob Reedy was the provider I was assigned to and unfortunately he did not listen to my concerns and improperly treated me with the wrong treatment therapy. I felt like he did not listen to my health concerns when I was specific about what was going on. Therefore I will be returning for further care. Going forward, I will refuse care by him and only accept to see a different provider for treatment.

The nurse and Jacob reedy were wonderful . And the doctor reedy was thorough and helpful.
It was great, I did make sure to show up at open to reduce my wait time.
Everyone was very nice and I was treated very well. I didn't have to wait but a few minutes. I was done before long and felt better when I left. Jacob Reedy was very helpful and pleasant and is a great people person.
Try to reduce the time for waiting with the doctor.

Everything from start to end was great. First time here and was very glad I thought about them. Problem solved and feeling so much better.
Everyone was very pleasant and respectful. Easily in and out with the care we needed.
They did absolutely fantastic. The guy that gave me the prescription adjusted it to a pill that was easier to swallow since I was struggling to get anything down. He also gave me some liquid that helped me speak almost within the hour. I will come back if I get sick again.
It was very busy but everything ran smoothly. Everyone was very personable especially after working such a long, and apparently, busy day!
I always choose these clinics than on post .. I don't have to wait long the most ..I love to come here for anything I need for my health..thank you
The first nurse that register me, she was kinda of impatient, not too clear when she asked me about the allergy medicines. She didn't smile or make any comment of the things that I said just be there like part of the computer. Hopefully she see the patients with more compassion, and trying to have better communication. But she was the only one that makes me feel uncomfortable the receptionist and provider and everybody else were awesome! thank you so much ??
I was recommended to this facility. I was from out of town and was treated in a very professional manner. They understood what I needed.
The doctor and nurse was very understanding very nice explained everything and handled everything with care!!
Resolved my issues
The receptionist, as well as, nursing staff was very professional, and accommodating. Considering how many patients were ahead of me, I was pleased with the overall wait time. Still a lot less than the hospital ER visit.
Dr. Reedy was absolutely amazing with my little sick girl. We'd see him every time if we could.
From the front staff, the RN and Mr reedy, I was treated very well. I was seen quickly and effectively. I was sent home with very clear, concise instructions and sent home to rest. Thank you Mr Reedy and team for the great care.
2.5 hour wait is not acceptable. You had one pa servicing almost 100 patients. Not acceptable.

For folks who are concerned with catching the flu it would be nice if we could separate the people who are sick running a fever with those over there for other ailments other than infectious ailments.

Everyone was courteous and professional.
The wait was long, but considering the waiting room was packed and I was warned that the wait could be up to 3 hours, the staff did a great job of getting everyone taken care of in only a little over 2 hours instead of 3. It was clean and staff were all pleasant and did not show that they were rushed.
I heard the provider give the same exact statements to the old man with a walker next door. I asked for a flu test/strep test. I felt he was very condescending. I called back the next day with worsening symptoms and he said my fever "wasn't that bad". I was communicating that something was very wrong and I know myself. And asking for help. I now have a 102 degree fever and have to go to a different provider.
No improvements needed. Jacob Reedy was the provider and he was excellent. Very knowledgeable and professional
Everyone was great. It was an embarrassing issue for me but everyone made me feel comfortable about my situation and gave me confidence that it was normal. I appreciate the staff I interacted with

The front desk lady was very overwhelmed with the number of people coming in and was not the friendliest at the beginning but once she got everyone checked in she started being nice. The back staff was AMAZING! Very friendly from the beginning to the end!
I think this is one of the best visits I've had to PHC in a while where I felt listened to and not an inconvenience
Your provider was amazing! The fact that you didnt take either of my insurances was a total let down tho.
Prompt, courteous, professional service
It was fairly busy that day, but overall it was handled really well. I overheard one patient in the waiting room telling someone it was going to be an hour and a half wait, not sure what part of their care was going to take that long. I was a bit nervous about waiting that long to be seen, but I did NOT wait that long. It couldn't have been much more than 15-20 minutes. The nurse and doctor were both very kind and very thorough, while working as quickly as possible.
We were well pleased. No complaints.

Jacob was an excellent provider. He listened to everything I said, agreed with me as well and confirmed treatment. Great provider and thorough as well. He upholds the Phelps health standard of care for sure. Would recommend him and the WMP immediate care clinic.

This was my first experience with any Phelps medical facilities. My husband and I were extraordinarily impressed with the professionalism we encountered. All of my concerns were addressed and we left feeling confident we got the best care possible.
Nurse was very kind. Front staff need to work on how they talk to people but I know their job isnt easy and it is stressful. The FNP I saw was amazing. Very kind and also got me to laugh with a bite wound around my eye so truly very personable.
Pharmacy was already closed for the evening and the doctor provided the first dose to get me started until the pharmacy opened the next morning
The dr was absolutely wonderful he was patient and kind told me what he was going to do. I've never had stitches before I was a little nervous but he talked to me ask several times if I was ok. He's is very professional
Well, I know for my family, we have gone there many, many, many times on so many occasions due to illness, but everything's been taken care of fantastically. Matter of fact, I was just in myself and you had to call an ambulance to get me to the ER, but everything was done so professionally, so carefully and caringly that it was just an incredibly impressive operation. Everyone was very curious and friendly. The docs were very busy. Jacob listened to what I had to say, my issue was taken care of and we were out within an hour.

Dr. Jacob was amazing with my child and with the questions that I had. As far as the front desk personnel, the one nurse that we dealt with or the front desk lady that we dealt with, I don't know what she is titled as, but she at first had kind of an attitude and then once we got them seen, Dr. Jacob, once he came out and was playing around with her, then she had a positive attitude towards us. So at first, it was kind of a little nasty attitude and then at the end, she was happy.
Nothing, he was very nice and so was the whole staff.
Everyone was kind except my medication was not listed and the instructions were non existent then I had to drive back to the hospital to talk to a nurse that didn't know anything about my medication let's hope I don't die from the poor instructions.
Best clinic in the area. Front desk, nurses, and providers are all so very kind. Its nice to be heard and understood for once.

We waited for an hour and a half just to make it to a room and then 40 more minutes back there. I understand there was 1 nurse & 1 provider, so it wasn't their fault. The understaffed office left us patients with an unacceptable wait time. I did not feel that my time was valued.
Everything was perfect. All staff were kind and genuine and the level of care was phenomenal. The doctor spent the extra time to explain how i could help my condition along with the medication. Outstanding experience!
