Jennifer Wood, FNP-C

I’m Jennifer Wood, FNP-C, a certified family nurse practitioner who sees patients of all ages at the Phelps Health Walk-In Clinics. I joined Phelps Health in March 2026 and work closely with my collaborating physician, Rachelle Gorrell, DO.

I treat a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries, including colds, flu, strep throat, ear infections, minor cuts, sprains and mild allergic reactions. I also perform procedures such as splinting and suturing.

I thrive on human interaction, so a career in healthcare felt natural to me. I enjoy working directly with people to help them through difficult or uncertain moments. Every patient is a unique individual and deserves care that is tailored to their specific needs and circumstances.

I’m originally from Arlington Heights, Illinois, just outside of Chicago, but I have a deep connection with this area. Growing up, I spent many summers in Cuba, Missouri, with my grandparents. I live in Cuba myself now and, when I’m not working, I enjoy cycling and traveling to new places.
