Jessica Johnson, FNP-C

I’m Jessica Johnson, FNP-C, and I joined the Phelps Health Walk-In Clinics in September 2026 as a certified family nurse practitioner. I see patients of all ages on a walk-in basis, for acute illnesses, injuries, ear and respiratory infections, sprains, and more. My collaborating physician is Phelps Health Family Medicine Physician Tiffany Bland, MD. 

I am not new to Phelps Health, having first worked as a CNA in the ICU, then as a scope technician and eventually as an RN before assuming this role. I’ve also worked as a travel nurse, including during the pandemic in Chicago.

My decision to become a family nurse practitioner was inspired by a life-changing experience as a teenager. During a cardiac event that required hospitalization, my provider was a nurse practitioner who led the room with confidence, knowledge and calmness during a frightening moment. The way she cared for me while guiding the team left a lasting impression on me.

From that moment, I knew I wanted to provide that same sense of confidence, compassion and reassurance to others during some of their most vulnerable moments. Becoming a family nurse practitioner has allowed me to build on my nursing experience and continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of my patients. As a provider, I treat each person, not just their illness or disease.

I’m originally from Lonedell, Missouri, but now live in Rolla with my husband and son. I’m very outdoorsy, and in my free time, I love hiking with my son. Being a mom is one of my greatest privileges, and I cherish the time I spend with my family.

 After working at a dozen health systems as a travel nurse, I can confidently say Phelps Health truly cares about the community and its employees. I’m not just a number here, and I’m excited to serve the organization in this new capacity.
