About Me
I’m Joshua Garrison, DPM, a board-certified podiatrist with over 20 years of experience. I see patients of all ages for foot and ankle concerns, including a variety of deformities, arthritis, trauma and injuries, bone and soft tissue tumors, and ingrown/fungal nails. I also perform foot and ankle surgeries.
I’ve always been fascinated by the human body and wanted a career where I could use that knowledge to help people live healthier lives and keep moving. As a podiatrist, I focus on keeping patients comfortable and mobile so they can continue doing the activities they enjoy. I try to make sure foot and ankle problems never limit someone’s quality of life.
Trust is the foundation of the doctor-patient relationship, and I enjoy building strong relationships with my patients. I stay current with new techniques and treatments in order to deliver excellent care every day. I’m always learning and evolving with my profession.
I’m originally from Springfield, Missouri, but I’ve lived in Rolla for the last 14 years. I joined Phelps Health in September 2025 because it is a growing health system with a great reputation. I also love the area and appreciate Phelps Health’s emphasis on community involvement, which aligns closely with my own values.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and children, riding motorcycles, practicing martial arts, running, and working out.
I’m always humbled when patients choose me for their care. I want them to know that I am here to help and will do everything I can to support their health and well-being.

The staff, nurses and physician were all wonder, they were kind and patient with me and timely. The only problem I experienced was the chair was so uncomfortable and it it really hurt the back of my legs while the physician was treating me. Please get new chairs.

For my first visit I thought that he would probably check both feet just to see if there's anything he could do, but he only looked at at the one toe that I mentioned to him

I just wanted to say I was very appreciative of the first experience that I had with them and I've not been able to walk in probably over nine years comfortably, put socks on and shoes and I do work two jobs and I have not been able to walk comfortably and not be in pain. And since I've been to the diet treat and you guys have treated my feet, taken care of them and helped me along the way, I'm now able to perform my two jobs and walk so much more easily or the pain has went from definitely a 10 to definitely a 2. So I am very appreciative of everything that you guys have done and for myself and for other people. I hope that you all have a blessed day. Thank you.

Positive attitude, did not feel embarrassed about my nasty toenails
Time schedule. I realize that things happen which are unavoidable. In my case it was 45 minutes before I saw doctor. He apologized, gave me full attention. But was unable to do what needed because of running late. I had to make another appointment, which means another copay.

Dr. Garrison is a unique and wonderful person. I know him from his time with MERCY. I could have gone anywhere, but I chose to seek him out! You are very lucky to have him on your staff! I could not be happier with his expertise. My results are wonderful. If I need care in the future, he will be my first choice!
I had a longer than normal wait in the exam room but the doctor explained what had taken place that caused the delay and my waiting time. I was okay with the explanation
Was running about 30 mins behind, but that may be because the provider was over booked. I assume the appointment times are 15-20 mins, I suggest Phelps health consider 25-30 minute appointment times so the provider does not run late.
Dr. Garrison and his MA was very polite, understanding of my situation and took care of me 100% I don't know what I'd do without his care of my situation.

Everything was exceptionally good
Well overall it was very good. The nurse who put my cast on was friendly knowledgeable and courteous. There was one employee that kept cutting me off when I was trying to talk and that got a little annoying. But it wasn't a serious topic. I have never found any nurses or doctors to be anything other than consummate professionals with great bedside manner.
The nurse seemed to be in a hurry and did not get all of my medications listed.
my first time visit at the Phelps County health system, Waynesville, Missouri. Very pleasant and professional experience. Everyone was courteous and very helpful. The provider was excellent explaining things thoroughly and answered all my questions with expertise and professional professionalism. Would highly recommend this provider for any kind of foot problems you may be having never seemed to be in a hurry was always waiting to see if you had more questions
Answered all my questions and came up with a plan.
Could have simply explained side effects of medication your provider shot into my body. Could have given me some information about what I should have done after injections was made . Could have saved me a lot of embarrassment. As well as alot of discomfort.could supply me with the notes taken during my visit so I could translate for understanding

I understood the medical explanations for my condition and the podiatrist explained at length the symptoms associated with it and that I need not worry as the was no trace of melanoma beneath the toenail; I appreciate the time, care and attention given to the knowledgeable examination.

My only improvement is the main desk in the lobby at the entrance should always have someone there. It was unattended and we were unsure where that we had to ask another guest.

Dr. Garrison and nurse were great! When I was finished and went to checkout, there was no one there. So I went and asked the nurse to help. She took me to the reception desk and there was no one there either.
Dr. Garrison listened and understood my problems. He gave suggestions that might help my problem. He's very interested in his patients and does his best to help with the problem. He is definitely an asset for Phelps Health.
