About Me

I'm Raymond Bruno, FNP, a certified family nurse practitioner who sees patients of all ages at the Phelps Health Walk-In Clinics. I joined Phelps Health in February 2026, and I work closely with my collaborating physician, Rachelle Gorrell, DO.

I treat patients of all ages for a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries, including colds, flu, strep throat, ear infections, minor cuts, sprains and mild allergic reactions. I also perform procedures such as splinting and suturing.

I began my medical career as an EMT and then became a paramedic before getting my nursing degree. As a nurse, I worked in the emergency department (ED) and with substance abuse and psychiatric patients before becoming a nurse practitioner.

I chose the Walk-In Clinic because it allows me to help many people and aligns with my goal to provide care to the most underserved populations in rural communities. I believe that healthcare is a right—not a privilege—and should be available to all, regardless of ability to pay.

I'm originally from St. Louis, and currently live in Lenox, Missouri, with my wife. We have three children, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, as well as four dogs and three cats. In my free time, I enjoy farming, gardening and caring for our livestock—60 chickens and 40 cows. I spend a lot of time outdoors hunting, fishing and camping.

Phelps Health has a great reputation among providers I’ve worked with previously, and I’m glad to have the opportunity to make a difference in the community's well-being.

Everything good

The nurse practitioner I saw is one of the best providers I have ever seen there. He listened to me and was able to understand my health conditions, of which I have several, and gave me the care that I needed so that I could wait until I could see my actual provider. So I definitely hope that if I have to go to urgent care, I will see him again.

Raymond Bruno came across as very condescending and as if my presence was a burden on him. I didn't feel very comfortable and felt like I was being judged, or a bother. It felt like I was a dumb woman who doesn't know what's wrong with her or why she came in.

They listened to me.

The nurse practitioner, Mr. Bruno, was very knowledgeable, very professional, and very polite, and made things very good, understandable. He's the best doctor, nurse practitioner that I have seen in this clinic. Thank you.

Called to let them know right after my son's appointment the pharmacy was wrong. It was never sent to the correct one. I called the next day again to get the pharmacy changed. The wrong pharmacy already filled the prescription so I had to pay out of pocket at the correct pharmacy.

The nurse who brought us back didn't have a badge on and had a random logo sweatshirt on. The provider had on Texas county memorial hospital scrubs which was a little confusing. The provider also seemed like he was not used to interacting with children. He did not ask if I was ok with using Dax copilot and then proceeded to basically dictate his physical exam while looking at my child, who was very confused about all the medical terminology.

When NP man came in he said, "WHAT DO YOU WANT "? Zero respect shown.

I was the last patient of the day, 15 minutes before they closed so I was happy to get in there and not have to go to the emergency room. Everything went well, the shot that they did in my cut, it was a little painful, but other than that everything was great.

Excellent!

Staff was very friendly as well as caring. The provider listened and was very informative. I applaud this facility for its efficiency, effectiveness and eagerness to help the general public when they are unable to get into providers who have a really long wait period to get into their clinic even when you are established.

Everyone was polite and courteous

There was very little wait time that I had and I was checked in fairly quickly with no problems. I saw the physician and he explained things quite well to me and gave me my prescriptions that I needed and I was out of there in very little amount of time. Appreciate it. Thank you very much.

The nurse asked numerous relevant questions and listened to my answers.

I came in with back spasms.. waited almost 3 hours to be told immediately I that he wouldn't be giving me a controlled sunstance.. I never asked for anything other than the back spasms to stop.. I asked for a diff muscle relaxers as mine was not working and after 13 hours of spasms I was miserable and missed work.. very very un professional and will never go back..will drive to Washington instead if im ever need of urgent care again.

You couldn't have done anything better!

Took into account how weak I felt and dealt with me compassionately. Got weight and urine sample before walking me back to my room. Very kind

All the staff was great, but I didn't care for the provider. I understand why he prescribed the antibiotic he did but when I call back to tell him I was still experiencing symptoms and I would like the antibiotic I have had for UTIs in the past he dismissed my concerns and request. He said to call back in two more days if symptoms persist. When your genitals burn for days on end you think your provider would help. Never had this problem before. Very disappointed with him. Staff was great and facility was very clean.

PA treated me in pain, to the point I passed out. Nothing was done about it, no concern of my care given. I had to go to another urgent care the very next day in a different city to properly treat my wound. Do not recommend.

The service was excellent. It was a little slow wait but not bad.

Everyone of the employees were very very friendly. They made me fill very comfortable for my first time ever going there. Front desk was amazing. She informed it was an hour and a half wait. Which it wasn't really that long. This clinic is one of the best I have been in a long time. Great staff. The nurse practitioner Raymond Bruno was every informative and friendly and polite. Very good at explaining everything to me. Great experience!

I thought I just want to say that the doctor or I guess a nurse or nurse practitioner doctor, he was very nice and upbeat. I just thought he was really nice and professional.

I love this walk-in clinic. Not only do they give great service but it sure beats waiting days for an appt with my primary care provider. Thanks to Phelps Health for providing this service.

When I arrived there were (2) people in the waiting room, the MA told me there was one person ahead of me and that I would be seen soon. I heard people come n go in the room next to me, I waited for over an hour to be seen as I continued to hear again, people come n go. After waiting for over an hour, I decided to leave. As I was leaving an LPN asked me how I was feeling, etc. I told her that I was leaving n was not happy. She was apologetic. After I got in my car n was attempting to leave the PA tapped on my car window, asking me if I was the lady who was upset n leaving. I told him that I am and that I am very upset with the lack if care, also that I had waited for over an hour, etc. He stated there was a sudden influx of patients, how busy he got n " If you will just give me 5 more minutes, I will be able to see you". I informed him about my wait time and that I feel my healthcare is just as important as everyone elses, I would not give him (5) mire minutes. Then, I left. I have truly never been treated so poorly by a medical provider in my life! I am extremely disappointed in the lack of communication and consideration for my healthcare and I feel my healthcare is just as important as everyone else. Needless to say, I won't be referring Phelps Health Urgent Care only as a last resort and will only return knowing that I will come me last to the medical provider.
