About Me

I’m Sandy Marshall, FNP-C, and I began practicing as a family nurse practitioner with Phelps Health in 2016. Prior to this, I worked as a registered nurse (RN) for the organization for several years. My collaborating physician is Phelps Health Physician Jeffery Kerr, DO, medical director of Walk-In Clinic services.

As a walk-in clinic provider, I treat acute illnesses, or illnesses that come on suddenly. Common procedures I perform include suturing and splintering, incision and drainage of wounds, and trigger point injections. My goal is to evaluate and treat these acute illnesses or conditions and help you to establish care with one of our primary care providers (PCPs).

I have always had a passion for helping and educating others. My interest in healthcare heightened when I was treated for a personal issue. I knew then, that I wanted to provide this same great care that I had received to others. I also like that walk-in care allows me to see patients of all ages.

First and foremost, a patient’s beliefs must be respected. I listen to the patient, and we work together on the goal for care. I also believe that education is important, and if the goal is agreed upon and understood, the path to effective management becomes clear.

I grew up as a “military brat,” living all over, but mostly in Germany. Today, Dixon, Missouri, is home for my husband and me. We have two married daughters, one who is following in my medical footsteps, and the other who is an elementary education teacher. We also have three grandsons, and horses, dogs and cats. In my spare time, I love spending time with family, traveling (especially to the beach!), reading and going to the pool.

Phelps Health has been good to me, both as a patient and a provider. As a local healthcare organization, Phelps Health offers many opportunities for employees and an abundance of care for our patients.

The room, the waiting room at the doctor's office was very crowded because there were so many people sick. They were good and treated me nice and I really liked the doctor. She really worked with me in getting me through this pneumonia stuff. I really, you know, I have no complaints. It was just a long day, but you know, everybody being sick, you have to understand that. Thank you.

My son's last name was misspelled on our school form and paperwork even though I gave them my son's military identification card for insurance purposes. If the waiting room is super busy maybe you could highly suggest waiting in the car as an option. I did not even know that was a possibility till half way through our wait time.

I needed to be seen late in the day towards closing hours. They still were able to see me and treat me very well and respectively. Was seen with little wait time and treated wonderfully. Excellent clinic!

Looked like used tissue in the window ledge. Paper on the floor miscellaneous dirt and little bits on the floor. Waited about an hour to be told nothing could be done but here is some antibiotics . Treating the symptoms not the issue. Stated lancing procedures can't be done and I needed to see primary provider

Staff was overwhelmed with the number of patients. There was no... There was only one provider. It seems like you may consider an additional provider during the early morning hours. Also staff deferred many to appointments to that day, which was really good. She used good... Front office staff used good people management skills and it was appreciated. Thank you.

Everything was perfect

You need lower prices. Spent maybe 30 minutes in the facility and now have to spend the next 6 months in debt with a 700+ bill. Cheaper options should be suggested for foot pain before sending me to a 500 dollar xray. I genuinely feel as though I was cheated by smiling faces. Also the lowest payment option for me was 135 monthly. I'm just baffled that I'll spend more time paying off this bill than I spent in the facility and repeat care would crush me. I would rather just go to the high school next door and see their school nurse.
