About Me

I’m Sandy Marshall, FNP-C, and I began practicing as a family nurse practitioner with Phelps Health in 2016. Prior to this, I worked as a registered nurse (RN) for the organization for several years. My collaborating physician is Phelps Health Physician Jeffery Kerr, DO, medical director of Walk-In Clinic services.

As a walk-in clinic provider, I treat acute illnesses, or illnesses that come on suddenly. Common procedures I perform include suturing and splintering, incision and drainage of wounds, and trigger point injections. My goal is to evaluate and treat these acute illnesses or conditions and help you to establish care with one of our primary care providers (PCPs).

I have always had a passion for helping and educating others. My interest in healthcare heightened when I was treated for a personal issue. I knew then, that I wanted to provide this same great care that I had received to others. I also like that walk-in care allows me to see patients of all ages.

First and foremost, a patient’s beliefs must be respected. I listen to the patient, and we work together on the goal for care. I also believe that education is important, and if the goal is agreed upon and understood, the path to effective management becomes clear.

I grew up as a “military brat,” living all over, but mostly in Germany. Today, Dixon, Missouri, is home for my husband and me. We have two married daughters, one who is following in my medical footsteps, and the other who is an elementary education teacher. We also have three grandsons, and horses, dogs and cats. In my spare time, I love spending time with family, traveling (especially to the beach!), reading and going to the pool.

Phelps Health has been good to me, both as a patient and a provider. As a local healthcare organization, Phelps Health offers many opportunities for employees and an abundance of care for our patients.
