Access to healthcare is not only important for when you are sick with a cold or an ear infection, but having a primary care provider close to home also can help you with chronic conditions, such as diabetes or high cholesterol.

“In primary care, we can help people gain control over their blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid and mental health,” said Phelps Health Family Nurse Practitioner Ariella Martin.

Martin and Physician Assistant Bryan Davis see patients at the Phelps Health Medical Group - Vienna clinic, located at 606 South US Highway 63.

If you are not feeling well, have a sore throat or cough, or your sinuses are bothering you, Martin and Davis are trained to diagnose and treat a variety of common diseases and illnesses.

In many cases, appointments at the Vienna clinic are available the same day or next-business day, so you can get in, be seen and get back to your life.

If you have concerns about chronic conditions, Martin and Davis can assist you with managing your disease and work with you on a healthcare plan that best suits your lifestyle and needs.

“Primary care providers can help manage chronic health issues and in turn, improve your overall quality of life,” Martin said.

Well-woman exams are offered at the Vienna clinic, and the care providers there also can make sure you are current with your shots.

Other procedures offered at the Vienna clinic include joint injections, skin evaluations (with mole removal, when appropriate) and trigger point injections for chronic pain.

In addition, Martin and Davis are available to keep you up to date with healthcare screenings, such as scheduling mammograms (X-rays of the breasts used to detect breast cancer), colonoscopies (to look for abnormalities in the colon and rectum) and pap smears (which test for cervical cancer).

As family medicine providers, Martin and Davis can see patients of all ages, from children to older adults.

“We treat all patients with respect and compassion,” Davis said.

If you need additional care, primary care providers can refer you to specialists, if needed.

“A lot of specialists require referrals for someone to be seen, so we [primary care providers] can provide that service to the patient, as well,” Martin said. “Our staff takes the time to help the person or send a referral for the person to be seen for their current concern.”
