About Me
I'm Ariella Martin, a family nurse practitioner (FNP), who specializes in family medicine. In 2008, I started working for Phelps Health as a patient care assistant (PCA) on the Surgical Orthopedics floor.
In 2010, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Maryville University. Then, I obtained a master’s degree as a Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) in 2013 from Central Methodist University. I graduated in 2016 from Maryville University with a master’s degree to become an FNP. My collaborating physician is Family Medicine Physician Rachelle Gorrell, DO.
I became interested in healthcare at a young age. My grandmother, who worked as a nurse for 20-plus years, was my role model. Seeing her return home exhausted, yet still passionate about her patients and striving to provide the best care, inspired me.
I chose family medicine as my specialty because I like the variety. In the clinic, I can see patients for well-woman exams, including Pap tests. I also can help patients with earwax removal and care for small lacerations (cuts in the skin).
Common conditions that I treat include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, anxiety, depression, diabetes, sore throat, ear pain and allergies.
I want my patients to feel comfortable, know that they have a voice and be involved in their care. I offer same-day or next-business day appointments.
I also offer telehealth visits, which allow patients to visit with me remotely using a smartphone, tablet or computer with an internet connection and audio-video capabilities.

Everything went just fine I was for check up no problems.
I came from TCMH where it felt like my doctor didn't listen to my concerns, actually give me answers or help at all. I have been waiting over a month to get any sort of answers, help or even hear from my doctor at TCMH. The Nurse also was not super friendly. However at my appointment with Ariella Martin not only was the nurse super nice and caring, she also listened and was compassionate. I wanted to HUG Ariella after our appointment. She took her time listening to my complains and medical concerns. She put in needed referrals TCMH wouldn't give me. Ariella was absolutely amazing!! I literally cried when I got to my car of how amazing and different the care was. Being heard by my doctor and seen as a human and not just another patient!! No words can express my gratitude to Arielle and her team for their amazing work!
This was the best experience with a provider and staff I experienced since starting with Phelps.
I arrived at the appointment around 1:50 p.m. and I had to check in at suite 300. I didn't know. The receptionist was very kind in telling me what I had to do.

Ariella has been very nice and good to me. My sister recommended her when I was looking for a new a PCP. I recently hurt myself and have been in a lot of pain. And she worked me i. The very next day and started the process to help me get better. She is also very quick to respond to mychart messages which is very nice. A definite refreshing experience from the waynesville location.
I think that Ariella and the office staff (nurses and medical assistance and administrative) should receive a pay increase for the wonderful team they are. Feels like family when you go there.
