About Me
I’m Angie Watkins, CPNP, and I joined Phelps Health as a certified pediatric nurse practitioner in April 2023. I see patients from newborn to age 18. My collaborating physician is Phelps Health Pediatrician Shawna Gifford, MD.
I have over 30 years of nursing experience, working in obstetrics, nursery and pediatrics as well as care management. I began working as a registered nurse (RN) at Phelps Health in 1990. I have previously cared for military families at Fort Leonard Wood.
I can see children for wellness visits and also treat common childhood illnesses, including ear infections and allergies. I have special interests in mental health, including ADHD (attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder) and depression.
I am open-minded, and I try to empower both my child patients and their parents. Growing up, I had asthma and allergies and spent a lot of time in hospitals. I loved how the doctors, nurses and staff took care of me, and I looked up to them. I understand that everyone is different, and the care should be, too. I am originally from Rolla and was born at Phelps Health Hospital. Being a provider at Phelps Health allows me to care for local families I know and for children who go to school with my own kids.
My husband, Davy, is the owner and contractor of a remodeling company, and I have several children: Jayme, Sydney, Savannah, Kaylee, Ethan, Tyler, Mariah and Mya. I also have three grandchildren, James, Taylor and Logan. Most of my family lives or works in the area. We also have a dog named Daisy. My hobbies include photography and going to murder mystery dinners and escape rooms.
I also offer telehealth visits, which allow patients to visit with me remotely using a smartphone, tablet or computer with an internet connection and audio-video capabilities.
