About Me
I’m Candace Chafton, a family nurse practitioner (FNP-C) specializing in ENT/allergy, with Phelps Health. My collaborating physician is ENT/Allergy Physician Brian Kriete, MD.
In addition to general ENT (ear, nose and throat) concerns, I see patients of all ages in Rolla, Salem and Waynesville for allergies, including environmental, food and penicillin allergies. I also treat vertigo/dizziness, salivary gland issues, lymph node enlargement, skin lesions and migraines.
Since childhood, I’ve wanted to work in the medical field. My original plan was to become a physician, but I landed on the career of family nurse practitioner, and it’s been a great fit.
Prior to becoming an FNP, I worked in the operating room (OR) as a tech and then as a nurse for 16 years with Phelps Health. The decision to work with a surgeon, then, was a logical choice. I am familiar with surgery, making it easy to educate my patients. I also enjoy the variety of ages that I get to see in the ENT/allergy specialty.
Having grown up in this area, with several years of nursing experience, gives me a familiar connection to many of my patients. I strive to make my patients comfortable, and they aren’t afraid to open up to me.
I live in Salem with my significant other, two dogs and two cats. I also have two adult children, both of whom are married. When I’m not seeing patients, I enjoy camping, fishing, Fox Trotter horses, horse shows, hiking and birdwatching.

Yes, Ms. Candace, or Dr. Candace, was very kind, very reassuring. She did not make judgments at my situation, did not make me feel less than thou for the difficulty of my situation. Very attentive and just down to earth. And we not even only talked about what was relevant in her field of study, but in other areas she was very, she listened very well.

Dr. Chafton was great with my son. He was scared when she said she was going to remove his tube and so she made him a deal, if he didn't get this one removed today then she was going to do both at his next appt when they are due to be removed. He agreed to it and it put him at ease

I was treated with great respect. They listened to me when I tried to explain the problems I was having and they understood and took action by ordering tests and I believe it is going to hopefully solve the problems I'm having. But yes, they treated me with utmost respect.
Dr. C was great. She flushed out my head gear. I can hear again!! No more loud ringing noise. Time for the Ozzy test.

My doctor did great and she was friendly and helpful. The only thing I might have a slight problem with is the male doctor who seemed more like he was pushing the product then, worring what's best for my health. I like my female doctor more. She cared about m e. And, she said I don't need the product. I need a CPAP machine.
Ms. Candace Chafton is the best provider around. She always is informative and gives the best care possible. She sets the standard on how patient care should be and I'm lucky to have her.

I'd like to suggest that staff introduce self.
Everybody was very friendly. Everybody was, they were very busy. They had lots of screaming kids and they got them in and out really quick. They tried to help the kids. And being as busy as they were, they were on time. They did everything they could to keep the pace up. The kids were in the office just before the lunch hour. So the kids were definitely hungry and grouchy. Plus they weren't feeling good. You could tell the kids were sick. So they, in a difficult situation, they handled themselves extremely well. Made for a very good experience being in the office.
Dr. Candace, I forgot her last name, but she probably in the first doctor in several years that actually acted like she cared and also would commit to either saying this is good or bad. Most doctors won't even tell you what's good or bad. So I was very happy.
