Effective June 30, 2022, Apple requires that all mobile apps that are submitted to the App Store for approval support account deletion. Now, patients have the option to deactivate their own MyChart account. This change not only allows the app to meet Apple's requirement but also saves your help desk staff and other support staff time when they would otherwise need to deactivate an account themselves.

This option is available from all MyChart platforms:

• On the website, patients can access the Account Deactivation page from the Security Settings activity.
• On the mobile app in version 10.1 or higher, patients can access the Account Deactivation page from the Account Settings activity.

When a patient deactivates their account, they are automatically logged out and can't log back in. No medical information and associated data is deleted, and proxies with access to the patient's chart continue to have access. The patient can sign up for a MyChart account in the future and can contact your clinic or help desk to reactivate their account.
